“I am an online therapist who specializes in trauma therapy.  I work from a strength and client base perspective and have 22 years of experience as a therapist. We often associate PostTraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with individuals who have life-threatening events, like a soldier in combat.  However there is a more complex form of PTSD that results from repetitive, prolonged trauma involving sustained abuse or abandonment by a caregiver or other interpersonal relationships with uneven power dynamics.  I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) which has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. Many of my clients have been free from their PTSD symptoms through a short course of EMDR treatment.”
