Patti L. Sigl, PsyD
Licenced Clinical Psychologist
Director

As a therapist I am here to engage you in a the process of examining your life, and taking responsibility for your feeling and behaviors, while deciding what you need to do to be happy, and helping you do it. I specialize in an integrative approach to therapy combining several therapeutic methods designed to match treatment strategies to your needs.

Change is the goal of psychotherapeutic conversation. My focus is on leveraging goal-oriented conversation, insight, and therapeutic relationship into changes in behavior. Kindness and empathy are essential hallmarks of good therapy, but they are not sufficient to produce change. This process involves a joint exploration, an inquiry into motives and patterns of thought and behavior, trying to make connections between past influences and present conceptions, while deciding how best to get it.

My job is to sit with you while you figure out what’s next. With encouragement and patience I will hold you to the task, and express confidence in your ability to come up with solutions that fit your life. I also utilize practices from positive growth psychology which emphasize identifying your strengths and using this to facilitate positive changes while reducing unwanted feelings and behaviors.

With advance degrees in psychology and teaching, I have experience in a variety of settings from schools, universities, community mental health centers and private practice. I also specialize in psycho-educational testing, weight management processes, issues related to health psychology, and relationship issues.

When not practicing therapy, I am an avid reader with a love for learning. I enjoy all forms of exercise. I am a certified yoga instructor, practice kick-boxing, and understand the value of exercise to reduce stress and promote well being.
